introduction

How many of you get excited about new friends? Let’s say there is a very popular person in your school. Everybody in your class wants to be this person’s friend. One day this person walks to you and says, “Will you be my friend?”. How would you feel when the star of the class wants to be your friend?

I am going to tell you about the greatest VIP in the world who wants to make a friend request to you. Are you excited? Let’s begin!

Memory Verse

You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. Psalms 139:3 NLT
Divide the verse into three portions and teach an action for each portion.
🔸 You see me when I travel – Act like walking
🔸 and when I rest at home – Act like sleeping
🔸 You know everything I do – Act like doing something
Callout each portion and the children should do the action. If you do the action, children should callout the verse.

Bible Event

Bible Portion: Luke 15:2-7
Story: Parable of the lost sheep
Message: A good Shepherd is fully aware of the condition of his sheep. The Shepherd in the parable knew that one of his sheep was lost. In the same way God knows you fully well because He loves you so much. He knows when you are happy. He knows when you are sad. He notices you keenly because you are very special to Him.

Activity

Each child will choose a sheep for themselves from the sheep template. Ask them to write their name on it and decorate it with a cotton swab. They will then paste their paper sheep on a common chart paper.

Decorate the chart paper if possible (Refer to the picture). This will be called the class chart and will be used to mark attendance (Put a star next to their sheep on the weeks they are present). Paste a sheep with your name as well, to show that you are also a sheep and only Jesus is the Shepherd.

Game

Game: Make the children sit in a circle. Ask one of the children to be “the Finder” and send them away from the class. Give a small ball (or any small object) to one of the children in the circle. That child should hide the object (put it in their pocket or sit on it). Call “The Finder” back and ask them to find the person who is hiding the object. Repeat the game by changing the “The Finder” each time.
Message: The Finder could not easily find you, because no one knows you. You might be hiding a ball or not hiding a ball. But God knows you fully well. He notices you because you matter to Him.
