LET’s Talk
J4K Sea Cruise is an adventure cruise that takes the kids through 5 islands. The ship is captained by a Pirate who was a very bad person. She had gone on a trip to five islands. During that time she met the greatest friend (Jesus) and his life changed for good!
You will introduce the kids to this Pirate and help them learn from her experience. To do that you will go on a video call. Pretend to make a video call on the phone while showing the video to the children. You will have to pause the video intermittently and say a few words to make this session interactive. Please find the instructions in the script below. This session will be used to teach the Memory verse of the day as well.
Please find the script for the Upright Island (Island #4) video below:
You: Children, don’t you all like the pirate? Shall we make the video call? (Act as if making a video call using your phone. Then play the video)
Pirate Video: (Pirate will say Hi and will ask for the password)
You: (Password is the Bible verse of the day. Help the children repeat the verse thrice. Pause the video if the verse takes longer to read and then continue.)
Each of you has received a gift to use to serve others. Be good servants of God’s various gifts of grace. [1 Peter 4:10]
Pirate Video: (The pirate will take you around the island and talk about it)
You: (Bid goodbye to the Pirate)
Bible Event
Bible Portion: Jonah 3;
Story Outline:
God spoke to Jonah a second time about the mission to Nineveh. Do you think Jonah made the right choice? Yes, he did! He went to the people of Nineveh and told them how God is just and would punish them for all the bad things they were doing.
When the king heard this message from God, he realized his mistakes and felt sorry for all the wrong things he and his people had done. The king immediately declared a fast and together they requested God to forgive them. What do you think God did? Our good God, forgave them. He did not bring the destruction that was due them.
By obeying God and conveying the message from God to the people of Nineveh, Jonah helped the entire nation. One lakh twenty thousand people (1,20,000) were saved that day because of Jonah making the right choice. When you make the right choice, you will help yourself and those around you.
Activity
The activity would differ for each of the age groups – Special (3-7 years), Strong (8-12 years), Deep (13-15 years)
Special (3-7 years)
Page 1: Ask the kids how they would help others. Use the people in the worksheet to steer the conversation. Then ask the children to draw how they would help others in the box provided under the people.
Page 2: Ask them to look at the pictures and retell the story.
Strong (8-12 years)

Page 1: You will need a smart phone with a camera or QR code reader. The worksheet has 4 friends of Jesus who have made history in the world. They have contributed to various fields including science, theology, medicine, sports, etc. Ask the children to use the phone camera and point to the QR given on the worksheet. It will take them to a site showing the names and achievements of these great people. Help the kids fill up the blanks in the front sheet with the name of the person. Please find the answers in the picture.
Page 2: Give each child a minute to think about how they would serve others around them. Ask them to draw their thoughts in the box provided.
Game
Give each child a small sheet of paper (the size of a palm). Ask them to write down what they want to be when they grow up (Ex. Teacher, Pastor, Doctor, Tailor, Engineer, etc.) Ask them to also write their name down and hand it over to you. Invite a child to come forward. Choose a card from the ones the children gave you and place it over the head of the child standing in front. Ensure that this child does not see what is written on the card. All the other kids should read what is written and act out the profession that is written on the card without making any sounds. The child with the card on the forehead should find out the right profession. At the end of each round congratulate the kids for having big dreams and remind them that God is able to fulfill their dreams if they ask for His help. Continue the game using another card with another child as time permits.
