LET’s Talk
Objective:
You will use this section to set the context of today’s lesson.
Things Needed: Eve with tempted eyes Picture [Optional]

Method:
Ask the children the following questions and help them understand what “God’s blessings” mean.
- What does blessing mean? [Answer: Every good thing that God has in store for you]
- What are some blessings you already have? [Answer: Good parents, good friends, health, good school, etc.]
Then share this opener with them:
[Show Eve’s picture] Today I am going to tell you about one person who was so blessed by God. Her blessings included having baby panda and rhinoceros as pets. Can you imagine how happy she must have been? But she lost all of those blessings in one day because she got the tempted eye. Do you want to know what happened? Let’s listen to her story.
Memory verse
Teach the following memory verse to the kids using hand movements/ any activity of you choice.
Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things; and give me life in your ways. [Psalm 119:37]
Bible Event
Bible Portion: Genesis 3
Event Outline:
Eve had the blessings of God – she lived in the prettiest place on earth; God would come down every evening and speak to her; she did not have to cook; the garden produced yummy food; she had cute baby elephants and strong lions as pets. God had given her everything in the garden to enjoy except for a fruits from one tree. But the fruit in that tree looked so pretty. Eve got tempted to eat that fruit. She got “tempted” eyes. She listened to what the devil said and ate the fruit. She lost every blessing God had freely given her.
Message:
You have to be careful with what you see. If you keep looking at nice things which don’t help you in any way, you will lose all the good things God has in store for you. You will lose God’s blessings.
ACTIVITY TIME
Materials Required: 4 paper eyes; one long strip of paper or ribbon; markers; stapler/ glue

Method:
- Give the kids the four paper eyes.
- Ask them to write things that distract them (Ex. YouTube videos; mobile games, etc.) on two of the four eyes.
- Then ask them to draw spirals on the other two eyes.
- Pin the eyes on the ribbon/ long strip of paper as shown.
- Optionally you can add two eyebrows.
- Staple/glue the ribbon around their heads.
- Discuss the adverse effects of mobile addiction. The following videos provide scientific reports of the harmful effects of mobile addiction. Please watch them before you talk to the kids. You can show some of them if time permits.
Bad effects of Mobile Addiction
Message:
Every one of us needs time to play and have fun. You can use your mobiles. You sometimes need them for your school as well. But if you spend more time on them than what is necessary, they will distract you and take away God’s blessings. Be very careful about what you see with your eyes.
