Hi there! 👋
Thank you so much for partnering with the J4K-52 mission to share Jesus with children in a way that truly connects with them. We’re excited to have you on this journey! This is Recap & Respond of Unit 1 (NEW Account) for Flame Kids 🔥 (Ages 8 and above). Click here for the complete lesson plan.
Let’s get started! 🚀
Setting the context
Read Genesis 2:1–3 and share what God did on the 7th Day. He stopped from work and made that day special. That is why we set aside Sunday in a similar way. We stop doing our regular work (going to school, studying, etc) and we spend time with God in the Church.
Today, we will pause and remember what we have learnt so far.
Recap
Share a brief summary of the four chapters in this unit.
Interactively recap the key ideas with the children. Kids this age love to repeat stories — ask them to narrate the story from the beginning to the end of the 4 chapters.
Chapter 1: Darkness
Story: The world was dark and quiet but God was not afraid. He moved in the darkness and filled the empty, quiet world with life.
✅Jesus is not afraid.
✅Pray your fears away.
✅Remind the rhyme
Chapter 2: World
Story: God spoke and created the World in 6 days.
✅God make the world by His Word.
✅God has written His words in the Bible
✅Experience the Bible
Chapter 3: Life
Story: God made Adam
✅ God made you
✅ You are very special to Him
Chapter 4: Love
Story: God made Eve for Adam
✅ He made other humans for you – parents, teachers, friends
✅ You need God
Respond
You can pray with the kids about everything they have learnt.
Encourage them to ask questions from what they have learnt so far. They can even draw/ write it on a piece of paper (You would be surprised to see the questions even tiny tots have) If there are questions from the kids, respond to them as best as you can. For any questions you don’t know the answer to, it’s okay to say, “I don’t know yet.” Let them know you will find the answer and come back to them next week—and be sure to follow up. This models humility, curiosity, and a growing faith.
