But But the world we live in today does not look quite good. What happened to the GOOD WORLD, GOOD NATURE, GOOD HUMAN BEINGS that God created? We will learn just that in Unit 2 – BLOCKED ACCOUNT”
45 mins: [✨]
Bible Portion: Genesis 2: 15-17, Genesis 3
Part 1: Story Time
Tell the story of Adam and Eve and how they disobeyed God. Gently emphasize that they said “No” to God when they chose to do what God had clearly told them not to do.
Tip:
You may search for pictures online and use them as visual aids while narrating the story. Pictures help children imagine the story better and stay engaged.
Message:
We say “No” to God when we do what God says not to do.
We say “Yes” to God when we choose to do what God asks us to do.
Part 2: Role Play
Things Needed:
“Yes, God” pictures (Please refer to Quick Links)
Activity:
Each picture represents a place the children are familiar with—Church, Home, School, and Play-area. Using these pictures, take the children on an imaginary journey to each place. As you visit every place, help them think about how they can say “Yes” to God through their actions.
Introduction (Say This):
“Today, we are going to travel to different places using our imagination. In each place, you will think about what Jesus would want you to do. Remember—when we do what God wants us to do, we are saying ‘Yes’ to God. Are you ready? Let’s go!”
Role Play Example: Church
“Let’s go to Church!
(Everyone pretends to walk while holding a Bible in their hands.)
The pastor is speaking. Can you hear him?
(Children nod or say ‘Yes!’)
But then you hear another voice inside your head saying,
‘This is boring. I want to run and play with mummy!’
What should you do?
How can you say ‘Yes’ to God here?”
(Let the children respond—guide them toward waiting quietly until the service is over.)
“What if your friend wants to talk to you during church, and you also feel like playing?
How can you say ‘Yes’ to God then?”
(Allow children to answer—affirm listening and waiting.)
Continue the Role Play:
In the same way, take the children to other places—Home, School, and Play-area. Ask simple, relatable questions that help them think and respond with actions that say “Yes” to God.
Key Points to Highlight:
- CHURCH: Listening to God’s Word
- HOME: Obeying parents
- SCHOOL: Obeying teachers
- PLAY-AREA: Being kind to friends and sharing toy
5 mins: [✨]
Things Needed: Printout of “Yes” to God coloring sheet for each kid.
Tell the children that in the next session they will learn more about how we can say “yes” to God as a family. They have to complete this project/ task at home before the next session:
👉 Color the Say “yes” to God page.
Note: Encourage the parents to ask the children to share how they say “yes” to God everyday in the coming week.
