Hi there! 👋
Thank you so much for partnering with the J4K-52 mission to share Jesus with children in a way that truly connects with them. We’re excited to have you on this journey! This lesson is Chapter 3 of Unit 2 (BLOCKED Account) for Flame Kids 🔥 (Ages 8 and above). Click here for the complete lesson plan.

Let’s get started! 🚀

Use the links below to view the details for each session segment.

10 mins:   [🔥🔥]

Before you begin, play the “HEART BLOCK” Game by revealing and removing the third block – COMMUNITY. (Details in Quick links)

Activity: Movie time

Invite all the children to sit together comfortably. Create excitement by saying:

“Today, we are going to watch the story of someone just like you and me — someone who said ‘Yes’ to God, even when everyone around him said ‘No’.”

Play the story of Noah in a language the children understand well. (Link available in Quick Links.)

Optional Setup:
Dim the lights to create a cozy atmosphere. Rearrange the seating if needed so everyone can see clearly. You may even pass around small snacks to make it a special movie-time experience.

After the movie, gently transition by saying:
“Today, we are also going to hear about something very beautiful — the story of the rainbow.”

30 mins:   [🔥]

Bible Passage: Genesis 6,7,8,9
Bible Event: Noah builds the Ark

Divide the children into smaller groups. Ask them to search their Bible and find answers for the following qustions.

  1. Did God give warning to the people before the flood? How long did the people have to repent?
  2. Is “Supernatural” real? Can you find all the supernatural evidences Noah experienced? Why did Noah and his family get the chance to experience God in a supernatural way?
  3. Why did God create rainbow?
  4. (IF and ONLY IF YOUR KIDS are already exposed to LGBTQ community ask this question. Else, please skip this question.)
Are some communities using rainbow icon for the wrong things? Are are they pleasing God by doing this?

Let the children present their answers. Lead them in a short time of prayer to experience Supernatural things in their lifetime.

Answer:

  1. 2 Peter 2:5 says Noah was a preacher of righteousness. So, Noah preached. But the Bible is not specific on how long Noah preached before the flood.
Some say 130 years based on Genesis 6:3.
Some say, Noah might have definitely preached after God asked him to build the ark. Which was around the time he was 500 years. He enters the ark at 600. So, a minimum of 50 to 100 years. (Genesis 5:32, Genesis 7:6)
  2. Yes, “Supernatural” are things that go beyond natural and physical laws. They are done by God. Here are some examples of the supernatural events during Noah’s flood.
    * Springs at the bottom of the oceans burst open (Genesis 7:11)
    * Pairs of all living creatures that breathe came to Noah and entered the ark. (Genesis 7:15) Imagine going and finding each of those animals by yourself alternatively.
    * Only Noah and his family in a boat were the only humans saved. Everyone else was destroyed.
Noah experienced the Supernatural because he said “YES” to God even when his entire community said “No” to God.
  3. God made a promise to humans that the waters will never again become a flood to destroy all life. God put the rainbow in the sky after every time there is rain. You would have learnt about the science behind how the rainbow is formed after the rain. Bible does not contradict science. The most heartful verse is when God said,
“When the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it. I will remember that my covenant will last forever. It is a covenant between me and every kind of living creature on earth.” (Genesis 9:16). That is how much God loves and cares for us – Rainbows are a reminder for God (Not that He ever needs one. But He wanted us to know He has got our backs)

10 mins:   [🔥]

Ask each child to reflect and identify one or more ways someone in their community/ friends might be saying “No” to God.
(You may use the Yes No, God” booklet for guidance.)

Home Project: Research on the scientific evidences of the flood described in the Bible.

Next Session: Let the children know that next time, they will learn how the world can say “No” to God—and what they can do about.

Psalm 119: 9 – 16

We would love to hear about your experience!
Would you take a moment to share what went well, what could be improved, or anything new you tried that worked especially well?
