Activity: Prayer Stations
Set up six different prayer stations in your church (Prayer Zones). Make sure there is enough space in each zone for the children to stand and pray together. In every zone, place the prayer cards (available in the Quick Links section).
If possible, you can also add simple props that represent the prayer topic in that zone to help children understand and connect with the prayer point.
Each class teacher should take their group of children to each prayer zone. At every station, briefly explain the prayer point and then lead the children in a short time of prayer. This will help the children learn to pray for different needs around the world.

Bible Passage: Genesis 11:1-9
Bible Event: Tower of Babel
Imagine you were making an omelette for your family. You take four eggs and crack them into a bowl. But when you crack the fourth egg, you realize it is bad. Now the whole mixture is spoiled because of that one egg.
What would you do? Would you say, “That’s okay, I still have three good eggs. Let me continue”? Or would you start over?
(Let the children answer.)
Most likely, you would start over. Even though three eggs were good, the one bad egg has ruined the whole batch. There is no way to fix it.
In a similar way, something like this happened in the time of Noah. People began to rebel against God. Instead of doing the good things God wanted, they chose to do evil. God is good, and He asks people to live in good and right ways. But the people kept choosing the opposite. Over time, their hearts became filled with evil.
Only Noah was living rightly before God, so God saved Noah and his family. After the flood, Noah’s sons had children, and many generations passed.
As time went on, people became more advanced. They learned new skills and developed better technology. They could even make strong bricks for building. But instead of using their abilities to honor God, they again turned toward pride and rebellion.
They said to one another,
“Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves; otherwise we will be scattered over the face of the whole earth.” (Genesis 11:4)
In other words, they did not want to live under God’s guidance. They wanted to be independent and make a name for themselves. If you look carefully, you can see a pattern. They were doing the same thing Eve did, the same thing Cain did, and the same thing people did during Noah’s time. They were saying “No” to God.
God saw what was happening. He knew that if they continued together in this rebellion, evil would grow again just like before the flood. So God did something unexpected. He confused their language. Suddenly people could not understand each other anymore.
Many different languages appeared for the first time. Groups of people could no longer work together, and they scattered across the earth. The building stopped. That is why the place was called Babel, because the name sounds like the Hebrew word for “confused.”
Even today, people around the world often follow the same pattern. They want to say “No” to God and live their own way. But you have a choice. You can follow the same path as those people, or you can choose something different. You can say “Yes” to God.
[ Divide the children into smaller groups and ask them to discuss and share their thoughts on the following.]
- In what ways are people rebelling against God today? You can take clues from the Prayer tents we walked through before the class.
- What can you do to help a world that is turning away from God?
