Activity:
Divide the children into two equal groups (Girls vs Boys works great 😊).
Ask them to stand in two parallel lines.
Show a picture to the first pair in each line and ask them to identify which part of the Bible event it represents. Give them a maximum of 10 seconds to think. After answering, they move to the back of the line, and the next pair gets their turn.
This activity helps children recall and connect with everything they’ve learned so far using the picture gallery.
Recap Points:
- God made the beautiful world.
- God created the stars, sun, moon, and sky.
- God created all living things—plants, animals, fish, and birds.
- God made humans in His image—Adam and Eve. God gave them a beautiful garden as their home.
- God gave one command, but Adam and Eve listened to Satan and said “No” to God. They lost their close relationship with God
- Their children also chose to say “No” to God—Cain and Abel
- Society continued to do things against God’s will, but one man named Noah, chose to say “Yes” to God
- Again, people said “No” to God, and He scattered them across the world

Bible Passage: Genesis 11:27 – 12:4
Bible Event: Abraham
Part 1: Setting the Context
The world had reached a point where people forgot the God who created them. Instead, they made their own gods. Imagine how hurt God must have felt.
What would you do if you were in God’s place?
(Allow children to share their thoughts.)
Today, let’s discover what God chose to do.
Part 2: Bible Event Time
There was a man named Terah. He lived with his family in a place called Ur. His name is connected to the Hebrew word for “moon,” and his family likely worshipped the moon-god.
One day, Terah took his son Abram, his daughter-in-law Sarai, and his grandson Lot and left Ur. They set out toward Canaan but stopped and settled in Haran—a busy trading city known for moon worship.
Terah lived for 205 years and died in Haran.
Now think about this…
If you were God, would you send a friend request to Terah’s family?
(Probably not!)
But God did.
(Ask a child to read Genesis 12:1 from the Bible)
In Genesis 12, we see that God reached out to Abram—even though Abram didn’t know Him. God sent a friend request to Abram. God invited him into a deeper relationship with him. He showed the great blessings that were in store if He were to accept the friend request.
Part 3: Group Discussion
Divide the children into small groups. Ask them to find answers from the Bible using these clues:
- Did Abram accept God’s friend request? (Genesis 12:4)
- What does God’s friend request look like today? (Revelation 3:20)
- How can you respond to God’s friend request?
Let each group share their thoughts.
Part 4: Conclusion
What happened when Abram accepted God’s friend request?
- God blessed him abundantly—so much that there wasn’t enough space for everything (Genesis 13:6)
- Even though he had no children for many years, God renamed him Abraham, meaning “Father of Nations”
- Abraham believed God, and many nations came from him – Israelites, Ishmaelites (Arab tribes), Midianites, Edomites, Assyrians, Kennizzites, Amalekites, to name a few.
- God shared a close, personal relationship with Abraham—He even shared His plans with him (Genesis 18:17)
- Even centuries later, God called Abraham His friend (Isaiah 41:8)
Through Abraham, God showed the world what it means to be His friend.
God wants that same close relationship with you. Revelation 3:20 shows how personal that relationship can be.
Do you want to accept God’s friend request today?
(Lead the children in a time of prayer and commitment.)
10 mins: [✨🔥]
Create a chart with this heading:
FRIEND REQUEST
God [ Confirm ] [ Delete ]
(Revelation 3:20)
Hang the chart where all children can reach it. Keep paint swabs and a towel nearby.
Invite children who choose to accept God’s friend request to place their fingerprint stamp on the chart as their response.
Alternatively, you can use the provided template.
