Bible Portion: Genesis 11:27 – 12:4
Abraham’s parents did not know the true God, so they did not teach Abraham about Him.
Do your parents love Jesus? Some of you may have parents who love Jesus. Some of you may not. But there is something wonderful you need to know:
God loves you!
God saw Abraham and wanted to be his friend. In the Bible, God spoke to Abraham and said, “Go to the land I will show you” (Genesis 12:1).
Even though Abraham and his family did not know God, God loved them and reached out to them first.
In the same way, God loves you. That is why He brought you to Sunday School today—to help you learn more about Him.
Do you know how Abraham responded when God spoke to him? He said “Yes!” to God. He chose to listen, trust, and obey Him.
Today, God wants to say “Hi” to you too. He wants to be your friend.
You can choose to ignore Him, or you can say, “Hi, Jesus!”
How can you do that?
- When you wake up in the morning, quietly say in your heart, “Hi, Jesus!”
- When you are sitting alone at school, you can say, “Hi, Jesus!”
- When you are playing with your friends on the playground, you can still say, “Hi, Jesus!”
- You do not have to say it loudly. You do not even have to close your eyes.
- Just think about Jesus for a moment, the way you think about your parents or your best friend, and say:
“Hi, Jesus! I love You!”
As you spend time with Him and learn about Him, He will guide you and help you know what is right, just as He guided Abraham.
20 mins: [✨✨]
Things Needed: Chart paper, Straws, Scissors, Markers, Stapler, Crayons
Method:
- Ask each child to trace their hand on a sheet of chart paper.
- Help the children cut out their handprints. For younger children, leaders should assist with the scissors.
- While waiting for their handprints to be cut out, encourage the children to write “Hi, Jesus!” on the paper hand and decorate it with drawings, patterns, or colors.
- It may be helpful to prepare a sample beforehand so the children can easily copy the words.
- Once the handprints are decorated, staple a straw to the back of each paper hand to create a hand waver.
- Invite the children to wave their handprints and say, “Hi, Jesus!” as a reminder that they can talk to Jesus anytime, anywhere.
Notice Board

Each lesson does not have a separate memory verse. Instead, children are encouraged to memorize entire chapters or Bible portions. For Unit 3 (New Request), the memory portion is
Psalm 23
We would love to hear about your experience!
Would you take a moment to share what went well, what could be improved, or anything new you tried that worked especially well?
Thank you! 💖
