Story Time
The Israelites were on their way to the Promised Land. God showed them where to camp, and they stayed there.
Moses had a special tent called the Tent of Meeting. Moses would go there to talk to God.
Whenever Moses went into the tent, all the people would stand outside their tents and watch.
Then something amazing happened!
A big pillar of cloud would come down and stay at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting. The people knew, “God is here!”
Inside the tent, God spoke to Moses like a friend talking to a friend. God would tell Moses what to do, and Moses would tell the people.
Sometimes the people had problems and needed God’s help too. They could come near the Tent of Meeting and ask God for help.
But there was one young man who loved being near God.
His name was Joshua.
When Moses finished talking with God and went back to the camp, Joshua would stay behind.
Nobody told Joshua, “You must stay here.”
Nobody said, “Joshua, you must pray.”
Joshua stayed because he loved God.
God saw Joshua’s heart.
And many years later, when Moses died, God chose Joshua to become the leader of His people!
God helped Joshua win battles and safely lead the Israelites into the Promised Land.
God even answered Joshua’s prayer and made the sun stand still until the battle was won!
Joshua became a great hero—not because he wanted to be famous, but because he loved God even when nobody was watching.
What about you?
Do you read your Bible only when Mommy or Daddy tells you?
Do you pray only when someone reminds you?
Do you come to church only because your parents bring you?
Or do you pray, read God’s Word, and come to church because you love Jesus?
God sees what we do even when nobody else sees.
You can choose to love Jesus every day—just like Joshua did!
And you can be God’s hero too! ❤️

Things Needed:
- Small white paper cards (4 × 6 inches)
- Crayons
- On some cards, write “TITLE” and on the rest write “GOD.”
- Make sure there are enough cards for every child to receive one.
- On the back of the “GOD” cards, secretly write “HERO” in white crayon. On the back of the “TITLE” cards, write “ZERO.”
Method:
- Before Sunday School begins, hide the cards in different places around the room.
- When you say “Go!”, let the children search for a card. Each child should find one card.
- Once everyone has a card, ask them to colour the back of their card using a crayon.
- As they colour, the hidden words will appear!
- Those who found “GOD” will discover “HERO.” Those who found “TITLE” will discover “ZERO.”
Share the Message:
Ask the children: “What did you choose—TITLE or GOD?”
Remind them:
“When we run after titles, attention, and popularity, we may become ‘zeros.’ But when we seek God and faithfully serve Him, He can make us ‘heroes’ for His glory!”
